Sweded TV 2009 features Tallaght Young Filmmakers

Posted on Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Over the summer, Tallaght Young Filmmakers took part in RTE 2’s Sweded TV programme and two of their short films will be aired on RTE during the week of November 2nd!

Sweded TV is produced by STILL FILMS for RTE. Sweded TV is a series of short comic films made by teenagers. It’ll be shown on TTV (RTE 2) this Autumn and here after that.

“Sweding” means making funny cheap n’ cheerful versions of famous films. Sweding first became popular on YouTube and there are loads of home-made swedes to be seen there. Sweded TV is a series of short episodes, each sweding a popular TV show instead of a film.

Young people all over Ireland applied to participate in a one week film shoot during the summer. They submit their ideas for ‘swedes’ to STILL FILMS and are then selected to develop their ideas and make a short film out of them. Tallaght Young Filmmakers are one of five groups participating in 2009.

Tallaght Young Filmmakers created ‘Least Haunted’ and ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’. ‘Least Haunted’ sees Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie trying to help ghosts and ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ is a medley of hilarious guests. Both shows will be premiered on RTE 2 in the 6:30pm slot on November 9th and 10th 2009.
