NOISE ‘09 Battle of the Bands: Bands Announced!!

NOISE Battle of the Bands (www.noisesouthdublin.com/sounds) is a competition sponsored by South Dublin County Council for young musicians ages 15 – 25 with original music. An award of €1000 is given to the winning band towards studio time or the purchase of new equipment.

This year’s NOISE judges represent some great names in Radio, music and reviews. The competition judges are Today FM DJ Paul McLoone, musician Catherine Dowling of Alphastates and music critic Chris Wasser.

This year, young people from throughout the county are helping produce the competition’s events. The schedule is as follows:

October 3rd, 8pm, RUA RED, South Dublin Arts Centre
Recruit; Sombrero Sunset; Super Human Machine; Triple Drop; and The Pysches

October 10th, 8pm, Mega-Bites Youth Café, Griffeen Glen, Lucan Youth Service
The Loose Connections; The Morning After Phil; Flouresence; The Plastic Sarcastic Tools; and The Stoney Brokes

October 17th, 8pm, STARS Youth Café, Ronanstown, Ronanstown Youth Service
Ten Days of Silence; Laser Shots; Subject Matter; Paradigm; and Silverbird

The final takes place at the Civic Theatre’s main auditorium in Tallaght on October 27th, 8pm.
