NOISE Project Art gets a Public Showing!

Posted on Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The advertising company, Clear Channel, sponsored the public viewing of artwork created by young people in South Dublin County through the NOISE Projects online scheme. The project, called ‘Listen to the NOISE’, was designed by artist Jessica Tobin. Young people considered social issues of importance to them and examined literature and song lyrics as well as artwork that had relevance to those issues, such as stereotyping, alcohol abuse, and ‘following the crowd’. They then designed their own posters–in the style of gig posters–that spoke to those issues and send positive messages to and about young people.

The two posters pictured here appeared on bus shelter ads throughout Clondalkin, Lucan, Tallaght, and Dublin’s city centre from August 10 - 23, 2009.

To see which bus shelters the posters were placed at please click the link here: ad-spaces

You may view other work created for the project and to understand the creative process the young people went through to develop them, please see the ‘Listen to the NOISE‘ project.
