Phoenix Music

Posted on Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Phoenix is a registered young people’s charity and are members of the Irish Marching Bands Association.

The bands 2008 season has now been completed and has been one of the most active and successful ever.

Highlights include

1st place & League winners at the Irish National Championships, Arklow Co. Wicklow.

3rd Place in Division Two at the “Ouse Valley Sounds” British Championships, Bedford, England.

Division Two winners in the European Championships on Milan, Italy.

The band currently has 80 students and we will increase this number in the months ahead.

The band provides great opportunities and experiences for our students, both socially and eductionally and we all play a part in providing this service.

In 2009 we look forward to putting all our students through their music grades with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, This is a new and exciting era in music education for the students in the band.

2008 saw the introduction or our new uniforms and new name “Phoenix Rising” Another improvement was our equipment truck which makes the day to day runnng the group much easier.

Pheonix Music enrolls new students every Tuesday at 7pm in St Mark’s Youth Club and Family Centre, Cookstown Lane Tallaght. (beside St. Mark’s community School .)
