A poem by, David Delaney

Do you remember when we went to heaven?
You and me, mind.

I closed my mouth and my eyes fell shut, I done this for both of us. You hadn’t the strength.

We floated up into the sun filled sky,
Our skin absorbed the beauty of nature and height.

Nobody was to be seen, just you and me. It was our day.
I let my soul be free, for both of us. You hadn’t the power.

Nearly there, the lease was up.

I didn’t want to let you go but it wasn’t my moment, I was sharing it for you.

You rented me for all the dreamtime I could afford.

Laughter is the language of the soul, so is tears.
Mine came from the heart of my soul and cried only for you, for now you have to pass, the line I cannot comprehend.

You are now gone…
